The chart displays not only what song was referenced, but the exact moment it occurs and the type of allusion (implicit, explicit, or lyrical with melodic parallels—whoa). And there are more!! I love the idea of displaying data like this—the chart on Authorship and Collaboration manages to visualize the growth and eventual fracture of the band so succinctly that it makes the same old information seem fresh again. (John and Paul stopped writing songs together!! George started writing more!! Ringo was there!) And did I mention it’s pretty too?
